Training 1: The labyrinth !

The underground fire brigade has e very special function, because in case of emergency they have to save the miners' lifes.

The photo shows one part of the training equipment. It is a labyrinth with a lot of different floors, corners and other specialities making moving very hard in there. During the training the whole room is darkened, filled up with fog and heated up to 30 degrees Celsius. Then the members of the underground fire brigade have to get through there with all their equipment like oxygen apparati, lamps etc.. In the photo the labyrinth seems to be fairly huge, but in reality the miners do not have much more space than 40 to 50 cm.
