Pit cages in the colliery's former stores ! |
In these cages between 25 and 35 tons of raw coal can be brought up to the surface each time they move up the shaft - and that with approximately 70 km/h from a depth of more than 1000 metres. When they are in use the cages are fixed vertically at the ropes, the loading and the unloading happens automatically, so that these cages can bring up to 1000 tons of raw coal per hour (!) to the surface. It is important to mention that these cages are not waste, they will be brought to DSK's (the German hard coal mining company) central workshop and there they will get prepared for further use. |
