This is another picture showing a gateroad
preparation at the Minister Achenbach colliery in Luenen-Brambauer (Germany),
this time the picture was taken in the mid 1950s. As we can see the material
used changed from timber to metal, but the metal parts are still added by timber. I
want to point to the coal seam that is cleary visible in the background of the
photo, lying diagonal between the floor and the base and reflecting the light
much better than the surrounding rocks.
