This picture shows a refrigerating machine that
is usually used
in the roadways. These machines are used in warm areas underground, for example
close to the langwall mining areas, in order to create temperatures that make it
possible for the miners to work. The warm air is drawn in at the machine's one
side, cooled down to only a few degrees over zero and finally given off at the
machine's
other end again.
