The longwall mining area 753 in the Wilhelm seam !

Now we are standing in the longwall mining area 753 in the Wilhelm seam of Ost colliery in Germany. The longwall mining area is situated in a depth of about 1500 metres and the seam has a height of about 2.60 metres. On the right there is the coal face and on the left there are the large safety shields that protect the miners and the machines.
