This is what the machine's operator sees during
his work when bringing the raw coal to the surface. This cockpit-like desk
contains all that is needed to operate the machines situated in the tower's
"head", 53 metres over the ground. Today hoisting is mostly computer-controlled
or at least computer-aided, but the operator has to be present in order to be
able to react if an error occurs, for example.
