The pit bank !

On the left and on the right in the cabins there are the operators' places for the surveillance of what is going on around the shaft.

The hooks between the rails are used to push the miners' cars into the different levels of the pit cages automatically. By that the waggon filled with material pushes an empty one out of the pit cage on the backside of the pit bank. The empty waggon will be led back to the stores, refilled and finally brought back to the shaft.
