This picture shows the same area as the
previous one, but it shows a bit more of the pit bank's side. The blue gates
offer an access to the shaft from the side. They are used if large goods have to
be brought underground that cannot be transported in the pit cages. If this is
the case, these goods are fixed under the cages and finally brought underground.
To make this easier, the blue gates can be
opened.
