Because it is written in German, I will try to explain this panel
to you: This is a pub in the same suburb of the city of Hamm (Germany) where Ost
colliery is situated, as well. The first line says that the drinks are sold for
special prices for the miners. The second line is a play on words: "Senkung" is
the German word for "reduction". "Bergsenkung" can be translated with "subsidence"
- this is the lowering of the surface because of the fact that the coal
underneath has been extracted. "Preissenkung" is a reduction of the price. So
the play on words results from the fact that "Senkung" can be found in both
expressions with different meanings and from the fact that one of the two words
is related to mining.
