Photos from the Salzach coal mining industry - page 1 !

The photos on the following pages offer a very interesting overview of the Austrian coal mining industry in the Salzach region (SaKoG). If I am honestly I did not know anything about the fact that coal has been produced in Austria until I saw these pictures. This gap in the knowledge is closed by the nearly 200 photos of this serial in an amazing way, additionally they show the history and the development of coal mining in Trimmelkam (Austria) very well - from the early days until to the year 1993 when the colliery was closed.

Special thanks for the photos go to Richard Binder, who has sent the pictures to me and who gave me the necessary advice.

More information about the mining industry in Trimmelkam can also be found on the private pages of Gerhard Zdouc at http://members.aon.at/schuetzenverein/trika.htm.
